KBC, a Yokogawa Company, is pleased to announce the much anticipated release of Petro-SIM 6.2!
KBC’s vision for our simulation software portfolio is to deliver a fully integrated engineering suite underpinned by a consistent data environment that models the entire hydrocarbon lifecycle from conceptual engineering to operations from the sandface to finished products that incorporates world-leading technology and workflows and provides rich reporting and analytics.
Our mission is to deliver an open and extensible platform that extends beyond engineering simulation technology, transforming into the business decision support tool that underpins our client’s business processes and Operation Excellence best practices while breaking through the traditional barriers that exist today to support a new type of work process that revolutionizes the way project teams collaborate and exchange information across desktop, browser, and mobile devices and through the cloud.
The Petro-SIM 6.2 release is the next step towards delivering this vision.
Petro-SIM 6.2 breaks through the arbitrary boundaries between process and utility modelling by creating a truly integrated simulation tool that is able to handle process and utility systems in a single simulation environment. The Petro-SIM 6.2 release further extends the energy modelling capabilities within the process simulation environment through
- Combined Heat and Power configuration modelling templates for efficient modelling of these utilities system in the process flowsheet
- Inclusion of Gas Turbine Handbook information for more efficient setup of GT-SIM models
- Modelling of fouling in Gas Turbines to better manage performance over time
- A new Best Technology Index Utility for readily analyzing energy performance in facilities
- Heuristic balancing of steam networks as part of process models
- Expanded Excel integration capabilities that focus on energy metrics and reporting
Petro-SIM 6.2 expands Petro-SIM's refining capabilities in the naphtha and gasoline modelling areas with
- A newly revised kinetic HF Alkylation model
- Improvements to Naphtha Hydrotreating modelling capabilities
- Expansion of the Aromatics modelling capabilities
- Improvements to the Isomerisation modelling capabilities
Petro-SIM 6.2 empowers engineers to improve unit performance through better understanding of current performance and potential optimum performance by
- Improving Meter capabilities for better managing the extraction of process data into the process models
- Expanding reporting and data analyzation techniques and capabilities
- Improving mathematical techniques for unit optimization studies
- Extending capabilities for generating more realistic LP submodels
- Adding support for OLGASTM inside the Petro-SIM pipe module
The Petro-SIM 6.2 release follows the existing Petro-SIM 6.1 and Petro-SIM 6.0 releases, extending your process simulation capabilities. Petro-SIM drives improved decision making by ensuring that you are better informed about your facilities. It helps you achieve the maximum potential of your assets by empowering you to improve capital planning, maximise margin capture, or drive better crude and products planning.
