Combined Heat and Power Templates

Combined Heat and Power Templates
In a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) System, the exhaust heat from a gas turbine is recovered to provide process heat or to generate steam, thereby increasing the overall efficiency. A CHP system, also known as Cogeneration (of heat and power) system, typically involves one or more of the following major unit operations.
- Gas Turbine
- Steam Generator
- Heat Exchanger
- Steam Turbine
- Burner
The CHP unit is a special type of sub-flowsheet in Petro-SIM that combines the units in a CHP system. The overall system efficiency, considering the contribution of each individual unit operation, will then be calculated by Petro-SIM.
In Petro-SIM 6.2, there are 15 new CHP templates to select when creating a utility system model.
