Petro-SIM 7.4 KBC Explorer, Plant Monitoring and Databases

Immediate deletion of cases for SQL server

  • In previous KBC Explorer versions when the User saves over an existing case or delete a case on a SQL server database, then Explorer didn't do a full delete.
  • This new functionality ensures that constraint checking is turned on/off in conjunction with the "Delete Collections Immediately" setting

KPI Utility and moving average line

  • Now the KPI utility in Explorer plots the moving average line in the KPI charts
  • This is useful for the process engineer when using UMT to replace the Excel monitoring worksheet.

HX Monitor reporting

  • User can hide disabled/irrelevant cleaning cases from the results graphs shown in Explorer when HX Monitor is being used
  • Hiding these irrelevant cases makes it easier to view the exchanger cleaning information

Extended run timeout functionality for cases run from Explorer

KBC Eplorer will no longer remain hung up when a specific Petro-SIM case is not converging


New Timeout option

Save cases created in the Bulk Run tab

  • Previously Explorer deleted all the cases prepared in the Bulk Run if Explorer was closed
  • Keeping all cases prepared even when Explorer is closed, distinguishing between those that have run and those that remain to run can save a lot of time

Database tags with multiple values

A solution applicable for UMT, providing the ability to handle multiple applications potentially writing the same tag (daily or weekly).

Miscellaneous improvements on Historian

  • Report to trace tags dependencies:
    + Petro-SIM offers the ability to export a list of tags with all object dependencies
    + This new functionality allos the User to keep the tag list clean without deleting any tag that is being used by a script tag\\
  • Historian tag management:
    + Allows cut and paste from Excel (as an example) to create new tags without having to "Add" tags manually
    + Prevents the tags list from automatically sorting the tags in alphabetcal order
    + Adds new tags to the end of the list, and not to the middle of the alphabetically sorted list
  • Specify meter data into the model when not using Send on Solve:
    + This new option was implemented for the Historian Manager to push meter data into the model when not Send to Solve, but leaves the Status as specified so that the reconciler is able to change the data without generating inconsistencies
  • New option to NOT average process data:
    + If required by the User, Petro-SIM's Historian does not average process data anymore if this new option is checked
