Petro-SIM 7.2 Changes to Dynamics mode
OTS Support
Snapshot functionality
- As part of OTS projects, a way to save the complete status of the system (without model topology) is needed. Usually same functionality is to be provided by the DCS emulator, so that a full system status is saved and a session can restart from that point.
Parallel Processing
- The pressure-flow solver is now executed for all pressure nodes simultaneously to get optimal result. If the process model is segmented into more than one parts this cannot be done, but an extra iteration loop is added to the solution of the pressure-flow network.
- The simultaneous solution of the pressure-flow network should be assigned to a dedicated processor.
- The rest, all the units can now be distributed among all other available processors, making use of the sequential-modular structure of the software, and the schedule-by-error module update strategy.
Logical input from Spreadsheet
- The OR, AND, NOT, XOR, LATCH objects can now take input from a spreadsheet cell.
Volume and Wetted Area for non-flat head vertical and horizontal separators
- Petro-SIM can now wxtimate the volume and wetted area for 2-phase and 3-phase separators with non-flat heads (elliptical, hemispherical and torispherical).

Electric Motor
- The user can enter the Torque vs. Speed curve os a synchronous electric motor, and its moment of inertia.
