Petro-SIM 7.0 Miscellaneous Changes

Assay Synthesis

  • Incorporation of asphaltene characterisation and thermodynamic models from Multiflash
    • Represents asphaltenes and resins as components
    • Model is tuned against precipitation onset data for crude and then predicts phase behaviour with changing T & P
    • Model predicts impact of blending, allowing study of crude compatibility
  • Incorporation of wax phase modelling from Multiflash
    • Handles n-paraffins as separate components, recharacterising on the fly
  • New assay properties
    • Resins – used by asphaltene characterisation and estimated if unknown
    • Di-Olefins content – used by new cracked naphtha hydrotreating model
    • Difficult Sulfur content to represent benzo thiophenes and other hard sulfur compounds – used in conjunction with other existing sulfur properties to represent four different classes of sulfurs
  • Synthesis Molecular Weight estimation methods expanded to support full range of Petro-SIM available methods
