Crash Report
Even though Petro-SIM is rigorously tested before being released, its versatile nature means that it is not possible to test for every situation. All software sometimes experiences problems and KBC would like to do everything it can to improve the quality of its software.
Problem reporting is essential to identify and correct certain problems and you can ensure that problems are fixed by sending in crash reports. Our engineers inspect every report and we will follow-up with you where we can to understand and fix the cause. Fixes to problems appear in service packs and in later releases of our software.
When Petro-SIM crashes, the following dialog box typically comes up:

The dialog box contains the following text:
We have created an error report that you can send to Software@kbcat.com. We shall treat this report as confidential. To help us diagnose the cause of this error and improve this software, please enter your email address, describe what you were doing when this error occurred, and send this report to us. Describe what you were doing when the error occurred (optional):
Please enter a short description of what you were doing to cause the crash to manifest. Please note that the description must be in plain English (ascii) text. If you can reproduce the crash, please provide the steps necessary to do so. You can also view the contents of the crash report file that will be sent to KBC.
Please click Send to send the crash report or Exit to send cancel sending an error report. If you choose to send the report, an email will be created and opened as follows:

If an email can not be created for some reason, the following dialog box will appear instead:

followed by:

Please send this file to KBC via email to software at KBCAT.com.
When you send the email, if possible, please attach the original Petro-SIM case and provide steps for reproducing the crash. The crash report will tell our engineers where in the code the problem is happening, but sometimes in order to fix it, the cases along with steps to make it crash, are necessary. The crash report itself does not contain the simulation model or any personal information.
After the crash report, Petro-SIM will offer to restart, and you will see this dialog box:

Click OK to restart Petro-SIM or Cancel to exit.
