DC-SIM
Add tuning parameter to adjust cracked feed determination
- Previous DC-SIM methodology for determining whether a feed is cracked or straight-run material depends on Watson K value of each feed stream compared to fixed internal value (10.5). This enhancement opens up the fixed Watson K value to allow users to appropriately recognize all cracked feed streams (especially relevant if previously saw discontinuity when shifting feed properties)
- Recommend adjusting new tuning parameter to around 10 if seeing discontinuities in original case.
Update impact of Feed T on Coke Yield
- Previous DC-SIM functionality without additional tuning adjustment resulted in higher than commercially seen impact of Feed T on Coke Yield due to amount of cracking assumed in furnace by the model.
- New Furnace Cracking Calculation Method introduced to select newer cracking calculation impact. Recalibration recommended upon switching method.
HXX-SIM
Add support for light-end (C4-) feed
- Improved recognition of C4- feed to hydroprocessing units allowing for direct connection of feeds with C4- material (especially relevant for NHT and CNHTR units).
- For previous cases with workarounds for recognizing C4- feed, recommend migrating and switching to standard connection approach for simplified model.
- Small results change as a result of improved feed handling. Recalibration encouraged if significant C4- feed present.
