Multiflash Integration in Petro-SIM 6
Petro-SIM 6 expands the range of thermodynamic property packages by incorporating several core methods from our Multiflash product. You can find these methods in the Basis environment when you add a fluid package:
- CPA (Multiflash) - The CPA model consists of the Redlich-Kwong-Soave equation plus an additional term based on Wertheim’s theory that represents the effect of chemical association. It is our recommended model for use with Gas Hydrate and Hydrate Inhibitors.
- GERG 2008 (Multiflash) - The GERG-2004/2008 natural gas model is a corresponding states model. It is an industry-standard high-accuracy model for mixtures of natural gas components: methane, nitrogen, C02, ethane, propane, n-butane, iso-butane, n-pentane, iso-pentane, hexane, heptane, octane, nonane, decane, argon, oxygen, hydrogen, CO, water, helium and H2S. The model includes appropriate BIPs for all components in the list
- RKSA (Multiflash) - Provides two implementations of an advanced Redlich-Kwong-Soave equation of state with different mixing rules
Each model lets you further configure the Viscosity, Thermal Conductivity and Surface Tension transport property models used as part of the package and where appropriate, allows you to indicate phases of interest alongside vapour, liquid1, liquid2 and aqueous phases. Petro-SIM will also model solids phases using Multiflash, reporting all available phases as part of the stream.

You can also define your property package by loading a Multiflash MFL file, giving you access to all of the capabilities of Multiflash within Petro-SIM. Some Multiflash package options may need additional licenses to the standard set supplied as part of Petro-SIM.
Petro-SIM 6 also expands the Lab Analysis utility introduced with version 5, giving it enhanced performance and greater analysis options.
