Patch Troubleshooting Guide
Generally the patching should proceed without any problems. Please be sure to shut down Petro-SIM before applying a patch, and if you are patching from a really old build, please note that multiple patches may need to be applied.
If you are experiencing problems, please contact KBC so that we can investigate and assist you.
The patch never starts to download.
Please let KBC support know so that we can investigate.
The patch downloads but does not want to run. You get a dialog box that reads "Windows Installer" "This patch package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."
The first step is to turn on Windows Installer logging. See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/223300
The patch starts to run, but then gives an error later.
Please find the file SIMSuitePatch.log in your c:\windows\system32 (or c:\winnt\system32) and email that to KBC.
