Data Reconciliation Utility

V4 adds a Data Reconciliation utility that works in conjunction with meters, building a set of balance equations for a selected set of objects. It can consider boundary balances only or include interior balances around each node in the set. It includes key refinery property balances on Carbon, Hydrogen, Sulfur and Nitrogen, giving you an easy way of assessing data quality. Values for carbon and hydrogen are estimated from other plant data using assay synthesis methods; values for sulfur and nitrogen are taken directly from your entered measurements.

You can use the utility to view raw balances calculated or estimated from measurements, as well as using it to calculate a reconciled set of balances. It solves the set of balance equations as an optimization problem, finding adjustments to each variable that satisfy the set of balance equations while minimizing the sum of the squares of the weighted adjustments. Weighting terms or tolerances are user definable. Including interior balances means that it will also solve for unmeasured flows and properties.

The Data Reconciliation utility also works inside the calibration environment, where it is auto-configured from your calibration scope. Use it to help you validate data prior to calibration.
