Maximus 7.4 - Physics based Multiphase Flow Simulator

Released: August 2023, Service Pack - Scheduled for August 2024
Maintained until Aug 2026
Release Note
List of changes in Maximus 7.4
- New or improved functionalities
- University of Western Australia hydrates deposition risk management tool, allowing to estimate the hydrates deposition rate at current operating conditions, to provide an estimate of the risk of blockage in the near future and take countermeasures to mitigate the risk
- Historians connectivity - after its introduction in Maximus 7.3 it is now possible to specify objects and run simulations automatically.
- The new Caltec surface jet pump object allows to simulate the eductor in Maximus and evaluate the gain in low productivity wells' production, life extension, and reduction in overall energy consumption and evaluate alternative solutions to increase production over the life of the field, with improved realism and more accurately.
- Cv specification of detailed chokes - additionally to the usual specifications through bean size and opening, Cd, and maximum flow rate, it is now possible to specify a detailed choke through the input of a continuous or stepwise Cv curve and travel, or simply through the specification of a Cv value, allowing Maximus to gain flexibility in the modelling and simulation of the performance of real objects.
- History matching - after its introduction in Maximus 7.3, it is now possible to optimize parameters of completions, connectors, tubing, as well as the reservoir tank model, to match historical production data.
- Interfacing and performance
- Parallel FloWax simulations in LOF - it is now possible to simulate more than one FloWax objects when running in life of field, with significant improvement of performance
- Various improvements to command interface and REST API
- Various improvements to the integration of the OneSubsea object - integration of the new release of the OnSubsea DLL and various usability improvements
- Upgrade to Multiflash 7.3
