Detailed Naphtha Component Estimation

Petro-SIM exploits the flexibility provided by its assay synthesis technology to estimate and track composition information for approximately 200 pure and representative naphtha range hydrocarbons. Using estimation techniques proven with C8 Aromatics breakdowns in Reforming, KBC has added estimations for the C6 to C9 paraffins available in the Petro-SIM component database, for the key C8 to C10 aromatic species and for the key naphthenes.

The estimations can be calibrated against detailed HDA data as part of the reactor calibration process, with estimates generated by all the key refinery reactors (FCC, Naphtha Reforming, Delayed Coking, Hydrotreating/Hydrocracking and Visbreaking). Additionally the Alkylation reactors now work directly against this expanded component detail.

The composition tracking techniques in Petro-SIM mean that you choose how detailed a simulation you want: the component slate can work with hydrocarbon pseudocomponents and still track the naphtha isomers. We have made it easy for you to switch to more detailed slates when you want to model fractionation more rigorously and switch back again to pseudocomponents as needed.
